Juan Taratuto started studying film at the age of 14. Progressively moving on to the College of Communication Sciences, to later earning his degree at the University of Cinema in Buenos Aires. He was an assistant director on various feature films and also for commercial director Puncho Mentasi.
Juan started directing commercials over a decade ago, first at Peluca Films and then moving on to La Doble A, both in Argentina. He has directed several award-winning works for the US, European and Latin- American markets.
Currently, he has managed to join his two greatest passions: at Concreto Films, he divides his time between advertising and film. And for that reason Juan can almost always be found filming something. Taratuto’s work has garnered him several awards in Latin America and throughout the world. Some of his awards have included a Clio, Fiap, Lapiz and more.
Juan has directed three feature films (No Sos Vos, Soy Yo/It’s Not You, It’s Me; Quien Dice Que Es Facíl/ Who Says It’s Easy; and Un Novio Para Mi Mujer/ A Boyfriend for My Wife), which has earned various awards such as Clarín, Argentina Film Academy, Llerida, Málaga and also got him various invitations to festivals (including San Sebastian, Tublinga).
For television, Juan has directed Ciega A Citas/Blind Dates (honored with a Martin Fierro award for Best TV Comedy) and an Emmy Nomination. He is currently developing his fourth feature film in Patagonia, Argentina.
